Aftermarket Speaker Recommendations

As the title really,

Want some aftermarket speakers for my 61 Focus as the bogo standard one's are awful. Distortion is unreal, bass is to loud even when the Eq settings have been adjusted among other things. Don't want to spend massive amounts as I just want a decent quality direct replacement, none of this stupid whole car, massive sub in the boot ICE setup. As long is the quality is good,

Matt

Do you have the Sony system?

I really like the sound from them, lol. A lot of bass on my old Titanium X that shook the rear mirror.

Strange as my ST with same speakers AND a sub produce less bass as standard. Maybe they turned the EQ down a bit for the facelift.

Can you not turn the bass down a bit if you don't like it?

Don't get me wrong I love bass but not on Guns n Roses for example lol. I've turned the bass a low as it will go and you can still hear it very clearly, which as I've just said sounds ridiculous on any music other than trance, which is the only time when it's as high as it can go. Not sure If I've got the sony system, don't think I do because the facia is like Matte black and it doesn't have the sony writing on it. Every Sony one I've seen has a gloss black facia and sony writing + a totally different layout

If you have the standard paper speakers you might find the ones from the Sony system with the stock HU provide better clarity. They are really reasonable and a direct fit.

Do you have 6 or 9 speakers? 9 speakers is characterised by a centre speaker above the main screen and tweeters near the rear door handles.

Can't think of any other way of reducing the bass than disconnecting the front woofers... Have you tried all the different sound modes too?

I have 6 speakers, I have tried all 3/4 different sound modes as well. I'll have a look at the Sony one's, where's best to get them??? Ebay?

I got the ones for my Fiesta from a Ford dealer. Was about £80 delivered for all 6 at the time.

That's actually quite reasonable from a Fraud dealer. Will definitely have a mooch into it, thanks for your advice
