Humming Noise When I Turn On My Interior Fans

Featured Replies

Hi

I have an 2012 Ford Focus SCTI 1.6 182bhp, only bought it in September this year. Over the last two days i have noticed a humming noise when i turn the interior fans on in the car, the noise increases if i turn the fans on full.

Has anybody come across this problem before and what can i do to get it fixed.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi

The Blower Motor is buried inside the dashboard

It is bound to hum.

If It makes a noise when the fan is off that is when there is a problem

Jamie

Lol, I assume this is a 'new' hum, separate from normal fan noise?

Mine makes an odd noise when set on hot on cold mornings, not sure I'd call it a hum but it's more than just fan noise, I've been wondering if it's something to do with the electric supplemental heater heating up?

every now and then, maybe once or twice a month, when I turn the car on my fan will make a kinda clicking noise like a blade is hitting something, it speeds up and stops, fan continues as normal. very strange, its self contained unit so nothing should be near it.... unless a previous owner dropping something in a vent I suppose

Least its not a Vauxhall, your car will have likely gone up in flames by now ;)
