Last Ford I Purchase

Featured Replies

Wellafter loyal 35 years of purchasing Ford this was my last one. 7 Months and no fix but willing to take money from me with no results. Letters remain unanswered to both dealerships, head office and head office in USA.

Same result each call to customer relations saying bring in and we will look. No quotes and refuse to send quote.

So will cost Fords new cars for both myself and family, shame but will now be a lot of monety lost by them. Final letter attached which still has not been even acknowledged.

What's wrong with the car?

  • Author

Started with simple item that stop start failed. Then cruise control. Car was 1 month out of warrenty. Took car in and before looking said that needed to pay £96 for diagnostics. Paid up and they looked and could not find issue. Then wanted me to leave car for 5 days. Asked for quote and they said that they could not. Tried various calls/letters through dealership and head office and customer relations and cust relations play off against dealership and visa versa.

Conflicting comments from customer relations managers who say one thing then mail with another.

No replys to any letters sent to any management.

Shame as like the cars?

If it was my car I would try disconnecting the battery first then leaving it for about an hour (Don't know about too much of the technical side of cars but usually a reset of sorts works) reconnect the battery turn on the car give it a whirl if that doesn't work perhaps using some software such as Foccuss turn off the features that are not working and turning them back on.

Have you sent the letter to Ford UK HQ in Brentwood Essex, for the attention of Andy Barratt?

I sent my letter recorded and they called on the day they received it to say they had it and would come back to me within the week - and they did, with an offer/resolution.

many thanks I will try that person also.

So far:

Steve Hood Chairman.

David McNamara.

Oh and Bob Shanks in USA.

Plus Customer service management and Trust Ford

Have you tried another dealership for a second opinion?

Ford rely on their dealership network, so if the one you are dealing with is rubbish then you won't get anywhere.

Yep 1st thing they wanted was another £96 for diagnostics.

Yeah not a lot you can do about that.

Might be worth considering a different dealer though if yours is completely useless.

I don't know what part of Hampshire you are in, but I use a really good independent (still Ford, but not part of a group), about 10 mins from Ringwood.

Guessing the vehicle is out of warranty?

  • Author

Yep was just out when issues started, Ringwood sounds ok I am about 30-40 min away. Can you supply details?

So whats wrong with car?

Auto stop start failed light perm on , cruise control and limiter is completly unusable. when try to use nothing happens and no lights shown on dash.

I to have had this problem with a Ford dealer by me, quick enough to mither me about servicing yet won't even acknowledge the fact I'm still owned a Nav SD card and whether my car should of been sold with £1200+ worth of paint damage, amongst other things

Auto stop start failed light perm on , cruise control and limiter is completly unusable. when try to use nothing happens and no lights shown on dash.

And no dtc codes shown when diagnostics connected by ford?

Seen this fault reported before on this forum unless you have posted about this problem previously.

Have they replaced the clutch switch yet?

VW are no better or Honda for that matter. Had my Golf from new and the wings started to rust within the 12 year (ha ha) body warranty. Basically they did not want to know. Ended up doing it myself.

I have had VW, s for last 30 years. No more though. What with the emission thing they can take a running jump.

Mate has a Honda !Removed! and the exhaust physically broke. Took it to Honda dealer who would not entertain it until they had put it on the diagnostic machine! Why?

Dealers in general are pain, across most brands. just avoid them when you can. find a good local independent and you cant go wrong.

Strangely enough the old mans Kia dealer not a single issue all faults fixed first time call backs to make sure all is okay a courtesy car complete with actual fuel in it

OP Can you PM me? Can't figure out how to do it. I also live in Hampshire and if it's the same garage that i've had multiple problems with i would like to get in touch.

Thanks

Jon.

Has any resolution, or reply from andy barret been received ??
