    Changed the coolant, I know it's a small job but I was going to let Ford do it because it's going in for it's mot and my thinking was to let them do it at the same time.Anyway saved about £30 so well worth doing .Oh,and does rain water count as a top up because it s .........down here ha ha.

    I think some of you are being unfair to the Stealers.

    A coolant change will take at least 15 mins to do. Most garages will charge an hours labour for any part hours working on a vehicle. So at dealer rates even at £80 it's not bad value. Dealers hourly rates must be £70 an hour these days if not more. So that leaves £10 for the antifreeze which they will buy in bulk anyway. So at £49 at a stealer it's quite a steal actually. Even an independent will charge probably £35 an hour plus liquids plus VAT.

    But that's why I do my own work to avoid paying garage costs.
