Clutch Probs

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Having problems with my 53 plate connect clutch.

The master cylinder started leaking and I lost the pedal. Its now in a garage and had the master replaced but they are telling me the gearbox now needs to be removed because after around half an hour of bleeding the clutch system and being able to drive the van the pedal fades and con not select gears.

Does this sound right or are they just trying to gain extra money from me/

Thanks Martin

Could be correct, been there before with a clutch which was bled using a pressure bleeder. It would last 2 weeks though before fading until the point it was useless. Damaged seal on the slave cylinder.

Thanks Stef,

That seems to be the problem with mine. They pressure bleed it and pedal lasts around 5hrs before it fades again.
