Focus Mk2 Coolant Leak. Help!!!

Featured Replies

Hi, this is my first post on here and I'm in need of some advise.

I have a focus mk2 (2005) 1.6 zetec, I've not had a problem with the car until yesterday.

Yesterday the car started to lose coolant at a fast rate. I've looked all over in and under the engine bay no leak for any pipes.

The carpet in the drivers and passengers front footwell is dry.

If you look under the drivers seat there is a air vent in the rear of the car when I pulled the head off this vent the vent was full of coolant and dripping from underneath the car at the same point.

The blower seems to be blowing hot and there is no signs of headgasket failure.

Has anyone had this problem or have any advise.

Thanks.

Steve.

Hi Steve,

There should certainly be no coolant in the area under the drivers seat. Are you sure it was coolant?

This could be the heater matrix, but why the carpets would be dry and under the seats not is a new one on me!
