Featured Replies

Hi all

How do i remove the top plastic engine cover off my 1.6 ecoboost.

Does it just pull off or is there a catch or something i need to remove first.

Just dont wanna end up breaking it

Thanks for the response

I don't know if it's anything like the cover on my 1.8HE petrol. That has rubber grommets that fit on to three ball-shaped lugs on the engine. I found it a bit tight to get off so to avoid damage to the grommets I put a smear of silicone grease on the lugs which has made it a lot easier. If you want to try this and don't have silicone grease you could probably use Vaseline but don't use ordinary grease.
