I have a 57 plate Ford Focus and this fault code appeared (p2584), I'm getting limited revs in all gears and wondered what could be the problem. Any ideas?

Is it a diesel 1.6 car by any chance?

Yeah it is a diesel, it has been to a garage before and they added an additive to the fuel. Is it just a case of topping it up?

It will need topping up & it's possible the DPF will need regenerating diagnostically - which may or may not be a garage job

You can top up the fluid yourself , but if the DPF needs a diagnostic regeneration, it's probably a garage job

I'd top up the fluid first & then see if the car runs ok or not

I'd get a garage to check the eolys tank and all the mechanism for it.

The system is set to add a small squirt of fluid every time the fuel flap is opened so if the tank is ok then it may be mechanical.

The loss of power is definitely a nod towards a clogged DPF chamber so a regen is a priority.

I've changed my dpf filter and now it revs to max. I was going to top up the additive in the eolys tank but it was full. But the engine warning light and little red light are still on after trying to clear them and the same fault code appear. What else could be the problem?

If the fluid level is fine I suspect a faulty eolys level sensor may be triggering the fault code

If the error codes are potentially different, if you used an aftermarket DPF, and the sensor thresholds are different this may cause problems...
