Focus Mk2.5 Titanium Centre Console With Armrest

Featured Replies

Bit of an odd request for anyone with a MK2.5 Titanium with a centre console with an armrest: but bear with me :)

From the drivers seat, behind the gear gaiter; but in front of the cup holders, there is an aux power socket.

What is the width and length of silver trim, where the aux power socket sits?

I might swap my Mk2 console for Mk2.5, if the trim at least 55mm wide, and there is at least 70mm between the edge of the gaiter trim and the start of the cup holder. Obviously, greater dimensions would be better - certainly from the aesthetic viewpoint.

In planning the bespoke dog ventilation system, the centre console would be the ideal place to put the switch and usage meter, having first removed the aux power socket, obviously

Unfortunately I can not help you with the dimensions. After I sold my previous MK2 I still had a MK2.5 center console laying around but I sold it this weekend.

However you should note that next to the mk2.5 center console itself you also need all inserts/panels, gearstick/handbrake gaiter, mounting brackets and side panels. Next to this the MK2 and MK2.5 have different interior colors. The color of a MK2.5 center console is slightly different from the MK2 dashboard so the color will not be a perfect match.

if this is to what you are referring, the size is roughly 82mm wide by 45mm between the trim on the gear-lever gaiter to the EDGE of the carbon fibre effect trim at the cup holder side. And I mean , roughly because as you can see, the trim is profiled.

Yes, that's it.

Thanks :)

So, it's not really big enough for what I had in mind, and I can't trim my switch panel down either.

I'll have to think of another location, if I swap for a MK2.5 console

The MK2.5 center console has a much larger storage compartment under the armrest than the MK2 center console. If you decide to install a MK2.5 center console you can install your switch panel in the storage compartment under the armrest.

Now, that a good idea, thanks :)

Are the gaiters from the handbrake and gear stick compatible between the two marks?

No, the gaiters are also different.
