Wing Mirror Caps

Featured Replies

Hi all, Just wandering how difficult it was to remove the wing mirror cap off an mk2.5? Had a look on YouTube but couldn't find any videos, so just wandering if any of you guys have removed them before?

Thanks!

Angle the mirror down to the ground and facing away from the car a tad. It will expose two little latches you need to knock down with a little screwdriver. Make sure not to drop the cap ;) I can take some pics if you struggle

Cheers for responding mate will have a go and see how I get on. I take it when you put them back on they just click in?

Yeah just click back into place.. If your removing the indicator part because the bulbs blown.. Be careful cause the plastic is shoddy and will snap.

Nice one, nah don't need to change the bulb just want to put a gloss black cap on the wing mirror!

If you have got some pictures mate that would be appreciated, struggling

First picture... Angle mirror down and away from car.. That little hole you see is where you wanna stick a lol screwdriver and push down to detach. Don't be harsh with it!

Second picture.. Angle mirror down and towards car.. Same procedure as above

Helped a lot mate! Managed to get them off and back on again today, not difficult at all, thanks for posting the pictures and responding! Do you have any idea where I would be able to get myself a pair of gloss back caps?

I know there are a few on ebay cause I was looking at carbon ones not long back. Alternatively could go to demon tweaks or to Ford direct. Would panther back ones work or carbon?

  • Author

Yeah I suppose I could look at panther black but not sure if they would be glossy enough, I'll have to have a look around!
