Alpine Sub In My Boot

Featured Replies

I don't listen to it really loud but my rear window quivers at every tone, and when listening to some metal that's worryingly often

Is it possible my rear window seals will suffer? Or worst case scenario the glass shatter? I'm not after turning it down, the amp is set to half and the remote is also set to half - is a swd 355 12" 550w sub

Hee hee Laurie. Don't worry about your rear windscreen. It takes a helluva lot more sub power to pop or even shatter a windscreen. Like a few thousand watts worth. But if you are worried then turn it down just a smidges. I'm wondering tho. Will your sub fit if it was turned round so the speaker faces the right wing?

Thanks :)

No I don't think it will fit sideways tbh, the photo look like there's a little bit of room in front, whereas space in front is minimal :(

I only listen at 11 or 12 on the stereo, sub volumes are above ^

Hee hee Lenny. Seen that video and many others too. Some SERIOUS bass heads out there in Poland and the U.S of A.

I listen to my music at 15 but the sub is set just below and depends what I listen too its just right but my subs only 8" powered by 100 RMS. Your sub I think is 300W RMS but have a play around till you find a setting you like. Have fun.

You can usually reduce the power output going to the sub via the headunit - probably worth adjusting it slightly to get the sound as you want it.
