Window Regulator Connector Help

Featured Replies

Hello all

Recently purchased a '01 Ford Focus Estate 1.8 diesel. One of the very few problems with it is the window Regulator was removed by the previous owner and a piece of wood put in to support the window glass.

I have removed the wood and refit a new regulator and motor, easy enough. Unfortunately I didn't notice that rather than just detaching the previous regulator, the previous owner just cut the cables so I am unable to connect the controls to the motor. The motor is an 8-pin female socket. I need the 8-pin male plug end but I don't know any model numbers or even the correct name of it.

I tried various searches online, through eBay and elsewhere but they rang hollow.

Is anyone able to assist? I will upload some pictures shortly if that helps.

Thanks in advance

best bet is to hit a scrapyard, find a car of similar age, and just go in and cut the connector off. Then you can wire it in manually.

Alternatively, you can cut the block off and bypass it, joining the wires together manually. Either soldering, or using the likes of butt connectors (or my preference is bullet connectors). You can get 25 male and 25 female bullet connectors, all with the sleeves to cover them, for about £4 on ebay.

Hello

Thanks for your prompt reply.

The wires I am left with are here: http://i.imgur.com/5tBEr6T.jpg

The connector is 8 pin, so I'm not sure how I'd wire the two up without a male plug end.

Apparently it's the plug on the end of the loom wire. That seems to bring up slightly better results online but I'm still a little stumped as to what to search for.

I had a look at the bullet connectors though I'm not sure how I'd get 2 wires into 8 pins still.
