Power Steering Pipes

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have replaced the powersteering pipes on my 2006 Ford Focus. I inserted the union into the pump first and then put the pipe into the union. My problem is that it is leaking between the pipe and union despite the pipe going all the way in and the locating bracket being done up tight. For some reason the pipe can be pulled straight out of the union and from what i understand once the union has been put on the pipe it wont come off. Can any one shed any light on what the problem is, have i missed something or done something wrong?

Have you got the right union, ford show 2 different unions , check the old and new are identical, you need to force the pipe in union quite hard.

Thanks for the reply,

Do you happen to know if the difference between the 2 are the internal hole as the union fits in the pump ok?

both will fit in pump , one is slightly longer in length, and pipe wont clip in.
