Steering Wheel Upgrade Help

Featured Replies

im wanting to upgrade my mk2 focus steering wheel to the 3spoke mk2.5

is it a hard thing to do, best done by a mechanic or is it something i could do myself? any tips on how to do it ?

cheers

I think they're same on mk2 and 2.5?

I changed my 3 spoke for a 4 spoke with cruise buttons. Easy to do yourself if you have a few tools. Take care removing the airbag though.

and make sure the sensor ring isn't moved

watch that air bag

------- so basically - ill get a mechanic to do it ha! cheers everyone

its dead easy, disconnect the battery and leave it for a while, then follow Haynes pulling it to bits, use a bit of sticky tape or blutac to hold the sensor ring in place, disconnect the wires as you go, pop on the new wheel, torque it up, connect it all, put it back together and bobs your uncle

I may have over simplified that a bit but there isn't much more to it, its all about being careful, it wont blow up if the battery is pulled and left for a while
