Cambelt & Kit Change

Featured Replies

Hi, my focus is an 06 model with 84k on the clock, next year it's 10 years old, even though it just doesn't feel/look it.

I'm starting to get a little worried about the belt and pulleys as i bought it having done 50k - 2 and 1/2 years ago, it rarely goes above 2000rpm i use 6th gear whenever i can and it doesnt sit in traffic for long where i live, at what point should i think about getting it done ?

so soon as I got my st 07 40k I had the belt done .for piece of mind ,my feeling on it is its cheaper to have the belt done then a new engine

10 years or 125k intervals, which ever is sooner, assuming your profile of 2.0tdci is right.

So will need doing soon regardless of your driving style.

Thanks guys i'll get it done soon cos it won't last another 10yrs, engines are outlasting bodyworks now these days best to be safe :-)

As Ian has just said.

It must be changed every 10 years of 125k regardless of driving style.

Your car is 2006. Timing belt needs doing in 2016 regardless.
