I am about to have a go at enabling cruise control on my 2011 MK 2.5 Focus and bought what was advertised as a 4 spoke steering wheel from a 2007 Focus sport. I also have an air bag for a 4 spoke steering wheel and have just tried to fit it to the steering wheel but it soon became clear that something was not right. Looking again at the sellers picture the vehicle has squared vents as opposed to the oval Focus vents so I am guessing it may in fact be a C MAX steering wheel? It has 4 air bag fixing points as opposed to 3 as in the image below?

I am just trying to establish what I have here so I am armed with the information when I contact the seller and also can avoid being caught out again.

The C-max and Kuga steering wheels and steering wheel airbags look identical to the ones of the Focus MK2/MK2.5 but in fact they are different.. The airbag mounting points on both the steering wheel and the airbag are different.

The C-max/Kuga steering wheel and steering wheel airbag are officially not compatible with a focus MK2/MK2.5. If you still want to use the C-max/Kuga steering wheel you have to use an airbag from the same vehicle also.

Thanks for replying, I will speak to the seller about returning it and get a Focus steering wheel. It's just annoying that the seller didn't describe it correctly.

Well it now seems that this Ebay seller is being difficult and insisting the steering wheel for a Cmax is the same as a Focus rather than allowing me to send it back for a refund. Lets see what happens.

open a dispute case with ebay or paypal , you'll get money back whether the seller likes it or not.

It's looking like that's what I'm going to have to do, I have given them the opportunity to refund me when I send it back but all they want to do is argue!

Point out the fact that was stated above to them, yes a Cmax steering wheel will physically bolt on but it is only compatible with a Cmax airbag too, not your Focus airbag! Tell them you will happily keep the wheel if they are going to supply an airbag so you can actually use it!
