I accidentally washed my flip key that I bought for my car, after having a clean it knackered the remote control PCB so it would only lock my doors not unlock them.

I bought another flip key to replace the PCB and program it to my car.

Whilst trying to swap mine into the newer case the horsehoe part of my old key had been glued together and broke while trying to separate it.

So I have used the complete new case and put my key blade into it with the new PCB.

I have the half of my old fob, a Tibbe style blank for the flip key and an unused virgin transponder chip, this is exactly the same as the one in my Key so should work with a MK2 as far as I can tell.

Programming a new transponder will require suitable diagnostics to program this to your car.

I don't really have a use for them now so thought I would offer them on here free to whoever asks first, I will cover the postage cost to you no problem, if people only want one of the bits I will happily split them.

Hey, did you program your key yourself? I am after one of these keys but have been quoted £90 to programme it alone, then the price of key fob & cutting of key. I can get hold of one of these quite simply, but the problem is I don't want to fork out £90 for a key :/

Yes I programmed my key myself, the remote fob part is very easy, the transponder is a little more difficult that requires either Forscan with a modified ELM327 lead with the extended programming. Or Ford IDS to program the transponder in.

I paid £31 originally for a flip key off ebay, cut to a picture of my key, including postage, I then programmed the key myself but I did have the tools to do so which I had already purchased for working on my own car.

I paid around a tenner for the second key after accidentally washing my first and knackering the PCB. The only issue is that it had the Tibbe style blade, if I could get these for £10 with the right blade and had a key cutting machine, I could make a nice little earner providing these keys programmed to Fords lol

Even if you went with the first buyer I bought mine from and bought a modified ELM327 interface your looking at a smidge under £47 for a fully working flip remote key. Less than half the price you have been quoted and you would also have decent diagnostics for your car too.

I've got the Modified ELM cable on way to me shortly, and I've got forscan installed ready to go, (i'm installing cruise control in my mk2)

How exactly would I go about doing it would you be able to advise?

If you can advise, can I have this if the transponder and what have you is still good and working?

Gives me a practice one to work on, and a spare key at the same time =]

The transponder is new and unused but the key fob is just the housing with no remote PCB and the blank is the Tube style for the earlier Fords, not the flat laser cut key type.

It is fairly easy if you are computer savvy but I haven't used Forscan to add any keys as I have Ford IDS.

There is a thread about programming keys with Forscan I will try and add a link to this post for you.

awesome, cheers pal, I wont bother with this key then, I'll order one off eBay :)

ill have a read through this scan in a bit. If no good Il get ford ids.

I'm pretty sure it will be straight forward though :)
