Does anybody know where I can get the gasket for my oil filter housing?

What do you mean by gasket? The rubber ring around the plastic screw on cap? If so, they come with new filters usually.

1.8 Tom, its one of those pain in the bum to remove if not done right metal filters.

my partners festa has one and I cant remember their being a seal on the filter, I'm fairly sure it was inside the housing.

How on earth did you lose that or did someone over tighten it (or didn't oil it up) and it get wrecked?

If its a metal canister filter they don't have replaceable gaskets, it's part of the filter...

For over tightened or awkward ones I use one of these...never failed to undo one with it! :D

that looks better than my grippers, ended up shredding the first filter as it was on solid

I've tried grippers, chains, straps, etc but that type is by far the best for me! I do also have a Halfords trade card so didn't cost too much either lol.

If only fitters would adhere to the torque recommendations on the oil filter! I've come across a few that must have been tightened up with a 3ft bar.
