Xman2001
My 60 Focus 1.6d is Cat D repaired.60k Light damage on near side arch. Car has excessive road noise compared with my Mondeo. Noise increases with speed and stays the same even in neutral / clutch pressed and engine revs down to tick over whilst driving. Have replaced wheel bearing (not much improvement) and steering rack end (bent loose slight improvement). I best describe this as transmission / diff whine but again going into neutral / pressing clutch makes no difference, above 70 or hard acceleration its drowned out by wind / engine revs... Definitely not turbo as not related to engine speed. any ideas what could be wrong? I don't mind spending on the car as it's nice.. Update Mondeo needs top end rebuild its going to be an expensive month...
