Hi I have a ford fiesta ghia 1.4 5d 53 plate and I am wondering if it has a belt or chain and when it will need chaining. It has 70,000 at the moment. Cheers

    Is it a 1.4 petrol?

    The 1.25 1.4 1.6 petrol duratec 2002-2008 is a timing belt

    The 1.3 duratect petrol is Chain

    The diesels are chain I think?

    Your belt is due 90k or every 10years.

    So, your belt should have been changed in 2013

    diesel that age is 150k or 10 yrs

    after 2005 125k or 10 years

    petrol that age 100k or 10 years, so you were not far off .lol

    after 2005  went to 100k or 8 years for some reason.

    For the petrol I always tell people 90k as I've had multiple friends who have had tensioners fail at around 90 :)
