Fiesta Mk4 wing replacement

The OSF wing on my Mk4 Fiesta has rotted right out at the bottom where it meets the sill. From what I can gather it is fitted using spot welds and one or two screws which I can remove as well as a bent-over tab or two. When fitting a replacement wing can I use screws and/or pop rivets only in place of the spot welds, or will it need the spot welds re-done to pass the MOT? I don't have a welder (yet..) Thanks.
