Focus MK1 Gear Changing Issue

Featured Replies

So just driven home from work and started having issues changing gear. It's like things are not lining up correctly, it goes into gear but you have to guess we're the gears are. 3rd gear which is normally straight up is slightly to the left and up.

Also when in gear the gear stick can be moved around allot more than normal.

I still have access to all gears they just seem harder to find. Car still pulls fine on acceleration too. I have lifted the gaitor and the two rods attached to the gear stick seem to be attached fine.

Clutch was done on car a couple of months ago but been fine since until now.

Anyone know where to start with this? I use the car daily to get to work so a little nervous right now

you may have a damaged gear cable or it needs to be set up tell you how in Hayes manual
