Headlight scratch

Featured Replies

Hi,

this morning I noticed a hairline scratch in my headlight. It's fairly deep as I can feel it with my nail, however the plastic doesn't seem cracked all the way, it looks superficial.

What would be the best way to fix this or to make sure it doesn't get worse?

cheers

 I wouldnt do anything tbh.

trying to polish it out with 3000 grit paper will probably thin the plastic around the scratch area if its deep.

Either leave it, or if it's really bothering you, you could try wetsanding it back.

Even if you thinned the plastic out slightly but left the scratch there, then sprayed lacquer over it it would improve it, but if you can dig your nails into it chances are you'll never remove it

leave it Yossi.

if your really fussed then get a 2nd hand replacement unit but it wont be cheap.
