kpg
How easy would it be to fit the heated recaros from a MK3 ST to a Titanium spec MK3 and have the heated seats and electrics work? Same for fitting the TitX half leathers to a Titanium. Anyone done this or know what's involved? I'm thinking the TitX ones would be easier as the wiring could already be there in the Titanium spec? Thinking out loud.... Sent from the pub with a pint in the other hand.
mrmetallica
ive put recaros in my tit x and they heat up. was fairly easy.look behind the switch panel see if you have the switch plugs then its just bringing the wires from passenger foot well to the seats. The switch panel beside the handbrake? I'm assuming I'd need to add a fuse for the heated elements too ? Sent from the pub with a pint in the other hand. Ah ok thanks. I'll have a look at the connectors under the seats I have and search for the button connections. If the connectors are there it should just be a case of putting the fuse in hopefully. I might have to activate the seats using Forscan or something. Sent from the pub with a pint in the other hand.

kpg
I've been reading up on Installing the ST seats and come across this post on another forum that mentions switching over the occupancy sensor from the old passenger seat to the new ones: http://forums.focaljet.com/showthread.php/676289-FRPP-Recaro-seat-install-in-NA-Mk3-Focus There's no mention of the seas being heated but one of the pics shows the heat switches. I would need to check what wiring is present in my car before I purchase anything. Sent from the pub with a pint in the other hand.
iantt
know the zetec hasnt got wiring at all at seats or in switch area.
kpg
I just went out for a look under the area where the switches would be: Nothing. Damn. Although there's a fuse present at number 85 in the passenger fuse box for the switches (amongst other things): And two fuses in number 34 and 35 in the rear fuse box for driver and passenger heated seats: Everything seems to be there so far apart from the wiring for the switches. Which I'm guessing can't be bought and added. Sent from the pub with a pint in the other hand.

kpg
is the wiring under the seats? Haven't looked that far yet. Too dark at the minute. I'm already gathering info on a tailored leather seat covers and DIY heat elements route lol Preparing for bad news RE wiring under my seats. Sent from the pub with a pint in the other hand. iantt
I'm thinking of fitting a heated seat kit made by xvision, it's a ford approved kit I'm led to believe
kpg
If I can't go the OEM route I'll probably get something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Heated-Seat-kit-for-2-seats-bottom-back-with-2-Temperature-settings-/141830989874?hash=item2105c92832:g:peAAAOSwd4tUDdSN and follow this "How to..." I've also found this guy near me that does custom tailored seat covers which, if i decide to get these, would allow me to tape the heat pads on the outside of my seats instead of trying to put them on the inside of the material = seat covers go over the top = hides the heat pads. At least the electric adjustment and airbags would work plug n play
