JW1982 Posted February 28, 2016 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Many brake pads have one or more small brass pins (or rivets) embedded in the friction material. When the brake pads are worn and a minimum of friction material is left the brass pin touches the brake disc and cause a sqeaking noise when braking. This is an indication the brake pads need to be changed. If you ignore this there will soon be no friction material left. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
