1.6 Petrol Focus System Engine Fault help!!

Featured Replies

Hi, I bought an 06 Focus last week and it's been running fine all week, except the dash has a delay on lighting up, takes 30 secs or more to light up and display fuel level etc. I was told it could be a fuse problem so I got some brand new fuses and changed most of them for new ones (after disconnecting the battery) yesterday.

Now the engine won't turn over and I'm getting the message "System Engine Fault" on the dash, I need this car running to get to work, I'm completely stuck!

Help please!

Have you changed fuses in the interior fuse box or the engine bay fuse box?

Either way check the imobbiliser light to see if it flashing a code with the key turned to position 2.

If you have an immobiliser error code then I suspect it is error 16 pats communication fault. If so check all connectors are seated properly and you have not disturbed anything.
