briscaF1
Hi, Thanks for any help that can be supplied. I think I have asked this before but couldn't find the answer..! I have a 10 plate Focus 1.6 which I think needs a timing belt at 7 years old but I'd prefer to change it beforehand. It's done 40k miles. If I get a timing belt kit (genuine) for about £82 inc VAT, will this include all the parts required to change? (i.e. no crank bolts or other oddities will need to be purchased additionally?) Don't worry, someone else is fitting it ;) Also, it is advisable to change the water pump at the same time? Even at the 40k mileage? Thanks again, D
Guest
I am pretty sure I am correct is saying It was 10 years or 100K, they reduced it to 8 years.
Dee_82
My kit didn't come with the crank shaft bolt, to change the water pump you need to do pretty much everything again anyway so makes sense to do it at the same time. 40k seems very early, I know mines a different engine but its suggested 65k and done by 120k
artscot79
40k is a bit early but who knows a crank bolt will be separate though saying Tha its 6 years old I wouldn't wait 8 anyway so ide do it
