shiv.g
Hi on my Ford Focus scti 61 plate, i am hearing a droning noise, took it to a garage they said your wheel hub bearing needs replacing, Just wondering if anybody had changed the wheel hub bearing and how easy are they to replace. Also does anybody know where i can purchase these bearing for a reasonable price. Thanks in advance
stef123
As its a gen2 or 2nd gen (whatever you want to call it) wheel bearing it requires a special removal and installation tool to do so best left to someone who has the kit. The kit I've just added a photo of is exactly the same as what you need for a Ford but it's for a smaller diameter wheel bearing (vag group 72mm). Here is a (poor) picture of the ford kit (78mm) The diy option here is really to purchase a complete steering knuckle/hub assembly from a breakers and do a swap. Unless you can hire the tool or get a shot of it.
