Mondeo mk4 heater controls not working. Any Ford sensor technicians???? Help :(

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

I have a 2008 mondeo and the heaters are not working.. So, I replaced the heater control module twice! and it works as soon as I turn the ignition on but when I turn it off back on again the screen on the controls goes off and if I disconnect the heater control module "via white and black plug" completely the blowers come on full blast... I think the fault has blown two control modules now.. I'm stuck as to what it can be.. Regards rich

I am having the exact same problem I ordered a new one and tried it worked first time no problem now it won't display anything but when I unplug it the blowers come on full chat???

its based on reistance. Full blow is based on no resistance whatsoever, which is why it comes on full pelt.

It sounds like you have an electrical fault, perhaps a short out between the motor control and the panel is causing the voltage to spike and potentially blow the module?

So is the module useless now or is there a chance that it will work again I've had two now and both have blown. What's the best way to do it

I think it's more a wiring fault, start off by checking over all the wiring.

I have the same problem with my 09 Mondeo Sport but it's the fuse under glove box that keeps tripping and not the actual until.  Any suggestions on what the cause could be?

I've had problems with my mk4 mondeo heater too. Directional , re circulate and temp and all stuck in one position.  After changing the heater control module twice, several door flaps and then went to change the BCM and no difference at all to the blowers after all that! After having 4 mondeos and never having this problem with any my local ford specialist said all they could try is to remove the dash and start tracing and testing individual wires and relays. With a follow up of " its not worth the money and time it would cost with the faults you're having" I may have to re home her as I can't put more money in
