Release Bearing/Clutch noise

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I have owned my 2010 Galaxy Zetec TDCI 143bhp for only 6 months and i have not been to happy so far.

Was driving home the other day and it developed a noise which was a tad concerning. Managed to get home without any problems. At idle the slight grinding noise seems to be coming from the clutch/gearbox area. If i push the clutch peddle  down the noise goes away and all sounds good. After moving off there is a definite noise when going through the gears, just sounds alot rougher than normal. Performance seems to fine as it still has plenty pull in all gears.

Could it be the release bearing or clutch or even gearbox?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Cheers.
