06 focus CVT gearbox issues

Hi there I have a ford focus on a 06 plate with CVT gearbox and I'm having some problems. Transmission malfunction keeps coming up on dash. When I pull off its revving extremely high and going nowhere as if when clutch is slipping. After a few minutes running around it kicks to life then intermittently kicks in and out. I've asked around various "gearbox specialists" and nobody seems to know anything about the CVT box. Does anyone know/had any experience and what the problem may be? I've flushed the fluid and refilled it and that's about it.
