Focus power loss issue

Featured Replies

Hi Hoping someone may be able to help in root causing an issue i am having with my 2000 1.4 petrol focus.

I have listed the issue in order of how it occurs while driving.

1.engine temp needle jumps from normal running temp to red

2. Yellow Warning light " ! "

3. Engine light

4. loss of power.

5. Bouncing like a rabbit

Struggled in first gear turning corner

Heard a rattle in the engine turning

Once car is turned off engine heat goes to normal and "!" light goes off but engine light remains on all electrics are working Windows wipers radio etc

thanks in advance for any insight you can provide

How's the coolant level?

You need to get it hooked up to a diagnostic code reader to see what is causing the warning light.
