Head Unit Swap Question...

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new to the forum and i'm after some advice... basically, i'm wondering if the Sony double din head unit in my Focus (2007) can be replaced by another Sony single din head unit and retain the steering controls without the need for any additional wiring etc. ?

Thanks in advance :)

You will need a plug in steering stalk adaptor.

it stays hidden behind dashboard the existing steering stalk loom plugs in to the adaptor;

The adaptor then has a cable exiting it to plug in to the new aftermarket headunit

You may like to view my guide here as it's somewhat relevant;

Thank you Lenny, I know how the adapters work - I've used them several times over the years but I just wasn't sure if I needed it with them both being Sony is all :)
