Car losing fuel pressure and cutting out

Hi everyone,

I have an 08 focus 2litre diesel which I'm ready to put a match too! It's constantly losing fuel pressure and cutting out. We have changed the in tank sender unit,and  if we bleed the fuel system it will start and run OK for anywhere between half a mile and half a week. We get a message saying engine malfunction and then it stops and will turn over but will not fire. However it will bump start on occasion.

Can anyone please save the life of this focus?

    that sounds like a bad fuel filter to me, when was it last replaced?
