Sensors vs towbars

Featured Replies

Hi can anyone help me?

I have recently had a tow bar fitted to my S Max (2010) Trouble is as soon as I select reverse gear the sensors go off as if I'm about to reverse in to something, furthermore it does the same with the front ones when I dis-engage the reverse gear.

The tow bar is a flange ball type as the removable swan neck types are not compatible with my bike rack and I had the tow bar fitted so that I could use the bike rack.

Is it possible to disconnect the two rearmost sensors to alleviate the problem, or is there something else that I can do?

Thank you

Mark

if they are ford original fit sensors, unplugging sensors will disable the whole system, fron and rear.

what trailer module has been fitted? and has it been programmed to bcm?
