mk2 focus steering wheel controls

Featured Replies

hey guys, i have a 55plate ford focus mk2 and looking at upgrading to an aftermarket stereo, already got wiring harness and fascia, the stereo im looking at has a steering wheel controls via remote wiring and i was wondering if anyone knows which wire in the loom in the car controls the steering wheel controls? i am used to the usual stalk adapter that uses a box that comes off the iso wiringalong with a jack plug for whichever stereo you buy. this stereo doesnt have the jack socket just the blue remote wire that says steering wheel controls  on it. pretty sure its the kenwood kdc-264ub, can get pics if needed tomorrow.

thanks in advance!

it depends, as just because you have steering wheel controls, doesnt mean they are to be compatible with a head unit.

Depending on which one you buy for example, one may work on resistance, the other on input signals.

That said, Connector B - Pin 6 is positive (Grey and Yellow), and connector 8 is Ground (blue). I set mine up recently to interact with an android tablet I have on my dashboard.

thanks for your reply the stereo itself as blue wire labeled steering wheel control wire, so i'd imagine it should hook up to the positive?
