Keyless entry/start

Featured Replies

As it stands I do not have any of this on my 13 plate fiesta zetec s. What I want to know is can it be installed? I only really want the keyless start

Anyone know anything about this?

Might be a bit complicated, new modules and hardware would be needed and the security systems would need programming.

But it should be simple for a Ford garage? The push to start come in at £20- £30 id just gathered it would be something to do with having some chip in the key and some programming within the car. I'll have to nip in and ask. Like I say it's only the push to start that I want

You'll need new keys they are over £100 a pop. You'll also need the button, the keyless module, the electronic steering lock and probably some looms. Then it all needs programming.

Probably looking at £500+ if it can be done.

Dunno whether its valid (or true) but AFAIK you can't bump-start a start button jobbie.

its really not as good as it sounds.

but a cheaper way is to buy the aftermarket push starts and wire them into the ignition. not sure how well that would go on a modern car though

After market ones still require the key which defeats the object IMO.

One good thing is that the car is more secure not having keyless start.

An aftermarket push button start merely replaces the need to turn the key past II in the ignition barrel to engage the starter solenoid.

Sent from my SM-G930F

yup, and if thats the only part hes after, a gimik to show off with, then it would suit?

After reading what would be involved it probably isn't worth it. I wanted the keyless start not just the novelty of a button

ahh
