You are only allowed to show a white light to the front

Is it legal thn or not?

Yes, it's illegal.

Its not illegal as it allows the light to come through, it doesn't change the colour of the light although it will slightly dim the light emitted. It looks good on photos when you see the black headlights but it but looks tacky when you see it in person, I'd stay away.

Ok so I will not buy it then

Fly eye looks tacky get normal headlight tint as long as you have good emitting lights

If you alter the factory lights in any way it's illegal.

What part of legislation did you get that from? Changing the bulbs to a different brand would be classified as altering the factory lights, is that illegal too in your opinion? There's been extensive discussion on fly eye legality on this and other forums and as of yet no definitive answer. As with most things in law, it's open to interpretation, as of yet though I'm yet to hear of anyone getting in trouble with the law for applying fly eye. I would imagine worst case scenario is you would be made to remove the film, this would appear to be an unlikely scenario though due to the vast amounts of cars that have it and drive around unpenalized from police.

Like I said, legal or not it's not worth having, if you're of the opinion that it's not legal then so be it but I'd say it falls into a grey area with it seeming more legal than not based upon the lack of consequences for applying it.

Im now confused guys lol

That makes a change...

Yes it's legal.

Yes it looks awful.

Yes it reduces light output which is kinda the point of headlights.

We had a problem in Lincolnshire a few years ago when people started putting much brighter bulbs in their headlights.   They were blinding people and, after a few accidents, the police started prosecuting people and they were getting convictions.

Probably were aftermarket HIDs, they were all the rage around 2010...  Factory fit HIDs are awesome though, with projectors and levellers so as not to blind people!

The problem in Lincs was that drivers were being blinded by the extra bright headlights and this resulted in two cars near Mablethorpe going into dykes.   Of course none of the back road have street lights in that part of the world and a lot of the back roads have very deep dykes running alongside them.   There are quite a few deaths in the area through cars going into dykes and if the passengers aren't killed of seriously injured they might drown.

Twenty four people have died and 144 seriously injured in a total of 887 crashes into dykes in Lincolnshire in the past five years.
