Hey all. Just a quick question. My car is all together now. Below is the list of what I have done so far:

  • Water Pump Change
  • Water Pump Gasket Changed (metal with gasket seal in between)
  • Oil Filter
  • Coolant
  • Aux Drive Poly Belt
  • Air Filter
  • Cabin Filter
  • Spark Plugs
  • Battery

It was misfiring at one point but fixed itself after I replaced the spark plug wires. Now however I have a smell of petrol coming from the exhaust pipe area. There is no dripping from the exhaust but the smell is strong. What could this be? and how would i go about fixing it?

    What marque of fiesta do you have? On my old mk5 1.25 with a full tank (to the brim) if you left it overnight you could sometimes smell petrol in the cabin.

    hey there i have a fiesta mk6 1.4 zetec its got half a tank of fuel in it if that helps.

    Probably still burning off the excess from the misfire lol!  They do run rich on cold start though.  Give it a run and see how it smells after.

    Thanks guys and TomsFocus I think has nailed it on the head. It has been sat there on my drive since may due to the engine issues I have had to fix. 

    Will run her in and let you all know.
