Hi all,

My partner is on motability and we're currently deciding on a Fiesta but we're a bit confused with the engines. We're looking at a 1.0 ecoboost auto or a 1.6 auto (my partners condition means he cant drive manual). We go on holiday sometimes with our family to cornwall or dorset and would like to know which engine would be ideal to deal with the long journeys and the steep hills? 

Any advise you can give to which would be ideal or even what you can recommend that would be really awesome! :)!

Also is there any particular trims (or is it called the style of the car, i have no idea!) that you would also recommend?

Hi, we have a 1.6 zetec powershift for my dad who is also on motability and I drive 99% of the time and it's a great car with plenty of pulling power and smooth gear changes.

I havent been up too many steep hills but I've never had a problem with it. The one down side is it doesn't seem very economical, the trip computer averages 30mpg around town and up to 50mpg on a long run. Realistically through my own calculations it's looking more like 37mpg around town and 45mpg on the run. 

Haven't drove an ecoboost but I'm sure some others can provide their input on that aspect, hope this helped.

P.S Zetec trim has all the things you may need, upgrading to titanium gives you some extras such as auto lights + wipers, power folding mirrors etc.

 

 

Test drive both the cars on a set route ... hilly/flat/really hilly/hilly/flat and then make your mind up. Do it with 3 adults in the car.
