Hunter Hawkeye Wheel Alignment Mk6.5 Fiesta, they set wrong model?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I had a wheel alignment performed on my Fiesta Zetec S MK6.5, because the inner front tyres are wearing more than the outside (from reading online this could be normal anyway?), they set the car model in Hunter Hawkeye as "07/08-2012 (Fiesta 2008.75) : except Sport".

I pointed out to them this was for the Mk7, but they said it didn't matter.

Is this correct?

My ex had her car done on the same setup - friggin' miles out!!

Took it to an old school back street tyre fitter. Chap looked at the car and pointed out that you could see the wheels were well out!!

They aligned it better, but were still not 100% happy - so they didn't charge her!!

(The fact she was wearing a low cut top and has rather large boobies may have helped lol)

Get a written statement from them that the settings are correct then, when the tyres wear unevenly, demand new tyres.

Well to be fair, I've had the alignment done twice at two different places and both confirmed the O/S rear wheel is showing a 0.22 degree toe, which is 0.2 out of tolerance, which they say is the reason for the wear, and the rear wheels can't be adjusted because of the solid axle.

So I don't know whether to investigate it further, the wear isn't that massive on the fronts.

Possibly damaged the rear axle or the bushes are worn?
