Mk6 Brake Hoses and Milltek Exhaust Clamp

Featured Replies

Evening,

Any idea which brake hoses I should go for?  Rears are mainly what I'm after, but seem to be out of stock on ECP, and not sold on GSF or FPUK...  Or has anyone used aftermarket braided hoses on a standard ST, there's a few different sets on ebay for £60?

Also, the clamp on the Milltek catback has failed and is leaking slightly, can't seem to buy Milltek clamps on there own unless I'm being daft?  Anyone know what size of aftermarket clamp (Mikalor style) I need for that?

Cheers

I used Goodridge braided lines on my mk6, coupled with mintext discs & pads & fresh fluid throughout

Goodridge are out of budget I think, not sure if the cheaper ones would be just as good though?  Obviously brakes isn't something to skimp on but I cant see how they could make a braided hose badly?

Also, can you remember how much brake fluid you needed for the whole system?  2 litres should be enough right?

I got them during a sale so didn't pay too much [emoji14] sold them on the car though.

I dont even think I used a litre if I'm honest.. and I flushed all of the old stuff out completely.

I could be lying as it was a while ago now

Hmm, I tend to spill about half a litre I reckon...

Any idea if it has to be 'Super' DOT4 or not?  ECP seems to think the regular DOT4 isn't compatible.  I see the genuine stuff is pretty cheap but would like to which its meant to be?  Says to check the spec in the handbook but that's all the way outside in the car and I'm up here lol...
