fiesta ecoboost turbo no working

Featured Replies

so as some of you know thanks to the help of a few members on here I managed to get my car back on the road, but all of a sudden my turbo seems to have given up, I was driving it the other day and it just stopped working, no pull, no noise nothing. ive checked for leaks and cannot find any also I think the actuator is ok as it has resistance. I know this might be a stupid question but when I rev the car at idle should the actuator arm move up and down? I think it is ment to but not sure. has anyone else experienced this?

I would expect to see a warning light on and some DTCs for this problem. The pcm would detect lack of boost if it was expecting it.

Alternatively, some other fault could put the car into reduced power mode, and turn the turbo off.

Do you have a diagnostic scanner? A Ford specific one like Forscan would be best, as it can detect ABS & steering problems, for example, as well as the engine problems that a normal scanner can read.

I was thinking that it may be another fault, there are no lights on the dash, I have got it booked in to a garage on Thursday so will await an outcome of that first as I feel I have done a lot with this car and had it running well and now this, hopefully they can shed some more light on this issue. the only thing that might be helpful is the day before I had the traction control off and I pulled out of a junction quite sharply and the wheels spun and the ABS light and traction control light both flashed this is something I haven't seen happen in this car before.
