Mk6 Seat Upholstery removal

Featured Replies

Evening all,

I have a 3 door Mk6 (pre face-lift) Fiesta Silver with the full leather seats (not heated); now unfortunately, one of the springs inside has snapped in the back of the seat and is now protruding through the leather, out the back of the seat.

Therefore, I was wondering if anyone knows how I can remove the upholstery from the seat in order to repair or replace the broken spring? I won't have to remove the upholstery entirely, only far enough to get to the broken spring.

I had a look at the bottom of the backrest, and there's a piece of plastic that runs the length of the bottom of the seat, I'm thinking that this could be holding the leather in place; if so, does anyone know how to safely remove it without breaking anything?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure that the seat contains airbags, so I suggest that you're extremely careful

If they do it's best disconnecting car battery and then unplugging wires from under the seat before any messing takes place.
