CMC Replaced, now more engine noise in car

Featured Replies

Just had my clutch master cylinder replaced, and everything working fine, but, since the repair, I can hear the sound of the engine inside the car much more than before (as if the door or window isn't closed properly). Is there something the garage may not of put back in place that would cause this? I asked if they had to remove any soundproofing but they said no. My car is a Fiesta 1.25 2006. Many thanks.

Maybe there is something on the engine touching directly to the chassis which is causing the noise ?

Check all bolts are put back on and tightened up ?

I've realised now the difference between the CMC I gave to the garage and the original Ford one. On Ford CMCs there is a quite thick gasket, and the one I gave the garage didn't have a gasket at all. So, maybe the sound of the engine is getting through where the CMC fits through the bulkhead. Now thinking of ways of sealing that but without touching the CMC.
