revs sticking at about 1200 when clutch depressed

new to this only signed up because the garage I bought my car from are useless. basically when I press the accelerator in neutral the revs go back to idle fine but when I press the clutch in they stick at about 1200 for a few seconds then they drop, they also stay like that if I take my foot off the clutch. does anyone know what this could be or had this problem before?

    This is a feature known as anti stall, its meant to help reduce the risk of stall when you drive by the clutch from stop start.
