2007 Fusion SE AWD -- humming noise at slow speeds

Hi all,

Our 2007 Fusion SE AWD is making an alarming humming noise when accelerating at slow speeds. Here is a quick youtube clip: 

 

 

I brought it into a nearby shop and they were stumped. Brand new tires that have been balanced. Only makes the noise when travelling under 15 mph. They checked out the hubs, bearings/front end and said all looks good. They think it might be a transmission issues--but said its a long ways a way from being an issue.

 

They told me not to worry--but I've got a cross country trip coming up. Any thoughts/advice is appreciated!
