Remove rear seats in 5door for sound dampening

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm going to be adding some sound dampening to my Fiesta's boot floor and rear wheel arches due to the very poor cabin noise on motorways (higher speeds).

Does anyone know how to remove the rear seats (lower section, not the backs) so I can add some sound dampening under there too?

The seat is held in place at the back by two rear loops & hooks and two push in steel lugs which are located at the front under the seat.

You need to remove the boot carpet and then push up the bottom of the upper seat, you'll then see the steel loops, grab hold of one loop and pull it off the hook towards you and upwards, so it comes off... The rear of the seat is now loose.

To get the front lugs out you got to use brute force as they are held in pretty tight, push your hand under the outside of the seat and force upwards to pull the lug out.

Be-careful removing the front lugs the steel is held in plastic holders which can break, if they do break then the seat will not fit back in.
