Cabin boot release problem

Ford Fiesta Mk6 2008

Having had problems with the boot release I found that the actuator was very weak. I have just installed a new actuator and the boot opens 100%  of the time with the key fob. However the cabin boot release switch only works intermittently. Putting the GEM unit into test mode shows the switch is sending a signal every time its pressed.

Has anybody got any ideas as to what to try next.
