I would like to make an enquiry. I had bought ford fiesta ecoboost 1L and it had almost been two years.

Recently, when I had off my car engine, all the lights are out and everything but I can still hear the engine running. I even when out and lock the car. The car was lock but the engine is still running. I ended up restart the engine, wait for a few second, and only then turn it off. Only then the engine is off.

I just want to know is that normal? Cuz there are times, when I switch off the engine, will just go off but other time, I can still hear the engine running.

Are you sure its the engine rather than the electric cooling fan still being on?

i'm not sure actually. I don't know what to check to begin with. So if it's the electric from cooling fan, that would be normal right?

I don't have the same model as yours but sometimes the cooling fan remains on after the engine is shut down - depends on the temperature - perhaps the next time you turn the car off and you can hear something running, just open the bonnet and check.

Some cars (like my old saxo) when the engine is running hot the cooling fan will stay on after shutting the engine off as m1tch said above, it should go off on its own after 5-10 mins.
